Privacy Policy

This policy explains what MatchThePet collects, why it is processed, how long it is kept, and the choices and rights available to you.

1. Information we collect

Account information: email address or phone number, display name, date of birth, sign-in method (Apple, Google, email, or phone), language, and legal-consent records.
Profile information: your photos and your pet's photos, breed, age, temperament, energy, and intent tags.
Location: precise foreground coordinates may be processed privately to calculate nearby discovery and approximate distance. Other users never receive your precise coordinates or route.
Paths Crossed: if a Plus member opts in, low-frequency foreground visit samples are retained for no more than 24 hours, used only to detect mutual nearby visits, and deleted when the feature is turned off.
Verification: a verification selfie and pet vaccination document may be submitted for verification and are kept in private, access-restricted storage.
Usage and commerce: likes, Superlikes, matches, messages, blocks, reports, verification status, subscription entitlements, store transaction references, and technical diagnostics.

To show and match you with nearby, compatible profiles.
To verify your account and your pet, and to keep profiles real.
To provide optional Paths Crossed suggestions without exposing a precise route.
To send service notifications for matches, messages, and people who like you.
To operate subscriptions, support requests, moderation, fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance.

We do not sell your information. We only work with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service.
Service providers may include Supabase for authentication, database and storage; RevenueCat and Apple/Google stores for subscriptions; Apple and Google for sign-in; and Expo/EAS and push services for app delivery and notifications.
Only the information you choose to show appears to other users. Verification documents are never shared with other users.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Account deletion removes or de-identifies account-linked profile, photo, match, message, location, and subscription-access records, subject to legal and fraud-prevention obligations.
Paths Crossed visit samples expire after 24 hours and are deleted immediately when you turn the feature off.
Verification documents are kept only for the minimum period needed for verification, dispute handling, safety, or legal obligations, then deleted.

Data is transmitted and stored encrypted. Verification documents stay in a private, access-restricted space.
Sensitive values are never written to application logs in the clear.

MatchThePet is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data.
Use the in-app account deletion feature, change optional permissions in Settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.
